Department of Fine Arts

The Department of Fine Arts at the University of Haifa is a practical studio art department offering a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Students gain hands-on experience across the full spectrum of the plastic arts—from traditional disciplines such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking, to contemporary media including performance art, photography, video, and digital art. Leading artists in Israel teach foundational skills, core concepts, and critical thinking, providing personalized guidance as students develop their work across diverse artistic mediums.

Alongside studio practice, students engage in theoretical studies that cover art history as well as disciplines across the School of Arts, Culture, and Hermeneutics, including theatre and music. This integration of practical studio work and theoretical analysis enables students to cultivate their personal creative expression while developing historical understanding and critical approaches to the visual arts.
