About The Department of Cinema Culture

The Interdisciplinary Master’s Program in Cinema Culture is a boutique program that conceptually and practically integrates cultural studies, film and media (including television, Instagram, and YouTube), cultural history, screen-human interactions, literature, theatre, art, and philosophy.

Program Structure & Professional Paths

Coursework is paired with practical filmmaking workshops conducted in the university’s television studio:

  • Workshop Focus Areas: Directing, acting on camera, cinematography and camera movement, screenwriting, and social cinema.

  • Faculty: Led by prominent Israeli filmmakers, including recipients of the prestigious Israel Prize and Dan David Prize.

  • Student Body & Alumni: Enrolls film industry professionals, educators, and cultural enthusiasts from diverse professional backgrounds.

  • Thesis Option: Offers a research track for high-achieving students planning to write a Master’s thesis toward advanced doctoral studies.

We invite prospective students to attend a trial session in our television studio.
